FSA Considering Firmer Controls For ECNs

LONDON--The Financial Services Authority (FSA), the UK markets watchdog, is examining ways to tighten regulations governing electronic communications networks (ECNs) and electronic trading systems.

The London-based regulator released a discussion paper last week on the subject, ahead of the implementation of the Financial Services and Markets Bill, which should become law in UK in the second quarter of this year.
