FMSB warns of Ficc market vulnerabilities

In its annual report, the body representing the global Ficc market, highlighted areas of concern still needing attention

The electronification of wholesale fixed-income, currencies and commodities (Ficc) markets has led to the emergence of a series of vulnerabilities, the Ficc Markets Standards Board (FMSB) has warned in its annual report for 2017.

Potential sources of concern identified include the governance of e-trading venues and algorithms, the proliferation of different order types, and the controls – or the lack thereof – governing the development of new products.
