Basel Committee reaches agreement on liquidity and counterparty risk

BASEL – The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision plans to publish a detailed communication on reforms to the Basel II framework before Christmas – earlier than many had expected.

The decision was made at a landmark meeting on December 9, as regulators aim to get the proposals out for consultation, with testing beginning in January.
