In keeping with its Sydney locale, the 34th annual congress of the Association Cambiste Internationale (ACI) was laid back, in comparison with recent events. Delegates and ACI central committee members alike exuded an air of optimism and confidence that the foreign exchange market will overcome declining volumes just about everywhere.
A dose of reality was supplied by Midland Bank's David Clark, who was elected the association's new president. Clark took the opportunity in his final report as ACI
