BIS Sets Standards For Netting Schemes And Principles For Cooperative Oversight

REGULATIONS

The committee on interbank netting schemes, under the chairmanship of the general manager of the Bank for International Settlements, handed down its report on netting and settlement arrangements for interbank payment orders and foreign exchange transactions this week, setting minimum standards for the design and operation of such systems and providing a list of suggestions on how central banks should proceed.
