Riksbank opens procurement for development of e-krona

Central bank intends to commission platform for electronic central bank payments in 2020

Sveriges Riksbank has started to develop solutions for a possible central bank digital currency, the e-krona, and is procuring a technical supplier, the institution said on June 3.

The procurement process will run during the summer and autumn. Once the Riksbank selects a supplier, it will work with it on the development of the e-krona.
