Virtu completes $1 billion ITG acquisition

Firm will supplement its current management with existing ITG leadership globally

Detailed integration: Virtu's $1 billion acquisition of ITG is part of a push to expand its agency offering to institutional clients

Virtu Financial announced on March 1 that it has completed its $1 billion acquisition of financial technology firm ITG, which will enable the market-maker to expand its agency offering to its institutional client franchise.

The deal, first announced in November 2018, is a cash transaction valued at $30.30 per ITG share.

Virtu will supplement its management team with ITG’s Robert Boardman in Europe, Michael Corcoran in Asia-Pacific and Etienne Phaneuf in Canada.
