January Beta Tests Slated For Dealing 2000-2 Electronic Matching System To Undercut Brokers

Sometime in January, 30 major banks in London and New York will begin tests of Dealing 2000-2, Reuters Holdings PLC's controversial automated anonymous matching facility for foreign exchange trading. Once tests have been successfully completed, Reuters will officially release the product.

Reuters Dealing 2000-2 is one of three automated order matching systems under development for interbank foreign exchange trading. The other two are: Minex, backed mainly by Japanese telecommunications giant
