Canadian Banks Report Patchy Forex Gains In Year-End Results

Canadian banks are reporting patchy fiscal year-end results in foreign exchange trading compared to 1993 but officials are optimistic about the prospects for 1995.

The Bank of Montreal's fourth quarter performance (FX Week, November 28) was the bank's strongest from a foreign exchange perspective, according to Barry Davenport, a senior vice president in the bank's treasury group.
