Rouble set to surge as restrictions relaxed

Russia has been a notoriously difficult market for foreign banks to access, but changes in legislation combined with a project managed by a Russian private bank could lead to much more activity.

"Recent changes to the Russian currency laws made in 2004–2005 has allowed us to create a rouble account-opening kit in English that will allow non-resident banks to prepare initial documents in just one business day," said Igor Souzdaltsev, manager of project Delta at Investsberbank in Moscow.
