London FX volumes soar

In the results of a semi-annual FX volume survey posted last Tuesday (July 31), the UK's Foreign Exchange Joint Standing Committee said average daily forex volumes were $1.33 trillion in April, up from $1.03 trillion a year earlier.

Average daily volume in the US represented less than half the daily UK volume, according to a survey released by the US Foreign Exchange Committee on the same day. US volumes stood at $618 billion in April, up from $577 billion in April 2006.
