HSBC realigns FX in US

Ben Welsh, head of sales and trading for the Americas at HSBC in New York, has been named deputy head of global markets, North America. In this role, Welsh takes on expanded responsibilities for FX, metals and rates in North America.

Welsh, who joined the bank in 2003 as head of FX, Americas (FX Week, January 13, 2003), last year assumed responsibility for HSBC's global metals business. He previously worked for Goldman Sachs, where he was a senior euro/dollar trader and co-head of G10 trading in
