Former Citibank N.Y. FX Customer Dealer Gets 15 Months Prison Sentence For Fraud

A former foreign exchange marketing officer and manager in the private banking group unit of Citibank in New York was sentenced to jail last week for 15 months and ordered to pay the bank restitution to the tune of $1.6 million plus interest. He pleaded guilty in May 1992 to charges of misapplication of bank funds and money laundering, but sentencing was delayed while he cooperated with the government against two other accused parties (FX Week, June 5, 1992).
