Chase Manhattan Bank has appointed Bijan Aghevli as director of Asian economic and policy research, based in Hong Kong. Aghevli will report to John Lipsky, Chase's chief economist and director of research. He will be responsible for analyzing Asian fundamental and economic policy developments, and will be leading Chase's analysis of Asian interest rate and currency trends. Prior to joining Chase, Aghevli was deputy director of the Asia and Pacific department of the International Monetary Fund
