Lehman Brothers Beefs Up FX With Currency Research Unit

LONDON--Lehman Brothers’ drive to expand its forex business was boosted last week, with a new stand-alone currency research unit.

Russell Jones, Lehman’s chief economist for Asia, is to take control of the global team, which was formerly positioned within the fixed-income research group.

Jones will move from Tokyo to London full time in July, reporting to Jamil Baz, co-head of fixed income research, and John Llewellyn, global chief economist. Lehmans has yet to announce a replacement for his role
