CBA hires head of FX for the Americas

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has appointed Joe Cardello as head of foreign exchange for the Americas.

Based in New York, Cardello reports locally to Pieter Bierkens, head of markets for the Americas, and globally to Kieran Salter, global head of foreign exchange in London. He started in the new role yesterday.

Cardello joins CBA after a short stint at Jefferies Bache in New York, where he was responsible for FX sales. He has also worked at Barclays, JP Morgan and Moore Capital.
