BAML promotes Tonkin to head of FXPB

Former forwards trader takes on new role in New York

Dean Tonkin, global head of foreign exchange forwards at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), has been promoted to head of futures, options, over-the-counter clearing and FX prime brokerage, according to a source.

New York-based Tonkin joined BAML from Barclays three years ago, reporting to the then co-heads of FX trading, Chris Bae and Tom Gillie.

BAML has lost several staff from its FXPB team over the last seven months, including London-based Peter Klein, former global head of FXPB, and
