Bassi Takes Over FX Options At BZW After Halliday's Unexpected Departure

The upheaval at Barclays de Zoete Wedd hasn't quite settled down yet, it seems. Last week global FX options chief Chris Halliday - recruited from Morgan Stanley for the job last year (FX Week, June 7, 1993) - left unexpectedly "to further business interests outside the markets," according to Dennis Rooke, BZW's global foreign exchange and money markets director.

Halliday's place has been filled by Steve Bassi, who joined BZW six months ago from Midland Global Markets in London, where he was
