London still tops for FX, says Greenspan

LONDON -- The introduction of the euro has not dented London’s position as the world’s top location for trading foreign exchange, Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan said last week.

"Despite the emergence of the euro, which some expected would divert a significant share of foreign exchange trading to a single centre on the continent, the City has a long tradition of leading the world in foreign exchange trading, and currently conducts twice the volume of New York," said Greenspan in a speech
