CIBC World Markets (CIBC WM) announced recently that it signed a five-year, $8 million contract with BT Syntegra for the managed service of its turrets. Already 425 traders in Toronto, Montreal and London are using turrets owned and managed by BT Syntegra, a division of British Telecom.
With CIBC WM's acquisition last November of Oppenheimer & Company, a New York-based investment firm, the total number of traders serviced by the contract could reach 1,000, Clarke says.
