Greenspan and Bentsen Called Upon To Testify On Exchange Rate Policy

U.S. Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan and Treasury secretary Lloyd Bentsen are due at the House Banking Committee this week to comment on legislation proposed by Representative Henry Gonzalez, chairman of the Committee on Banking, Finance and Urban Affairs, that would require the Fed and Treasury to provide more timely and revealing explanations for currency intervention, among other things.
